Recorded Vocal Art Society
established in 1953 for lovers of opera and song
The Society was formed as long ago as 1953 for lovers of opera and song. You do not have to be knowledgeable to enjoy our meetings, just come along! Both visitors and new members are always welcome.
We pride ourselves on having specialised equipment to get the best out of all sorts of recordings, from 78s to the most recent CDs/downloads. In our large hall recordings can sound far finer than within the confines of one's own home.
Our audience consists of music lovers, record collectors and opera goers who meet, generally, every second and fourth Monday of the month. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Programmes are given both by visitors and our members. They are frequently singers, who are experts in their field or knowledgeable or enthusiastic amateurs who simply want to share their love of the human voice with others.
